Embark on a fun real-world adventure that will open your eyes to our beautiful environment and the world of invasive pests.

Get outdoors to capture (with photos!) as many insect, weeds and pest animals as you can.  You’ll score points for every verified sighting, with extra points if you can identify what you’ve found.

And even more points if you find something rare or interesting.

The Game

Download the free QuestaGame mobile app and register an account. (If you already have an account skip this step).

About the Game

Your adventure starts now.

Play the world's first mobile game that takes you outdoors to discover, map and ultimately help protect life on our planet. The photos of species you submit through the game - and any correct identifications you submit - are shared with leading biodiversity databases.

So you’re contributing to real research and conservation, while having fun and engaging with nature.

Simply download the app and follow the prompts. The game is self-explanatory.

IMPORTANT TIP: Remember to get close-up photos - as long as it’s safe - to help the identifiers. (For plants, get close-up shots of the flowers).

Awards for teams

  • Champion Spotters Team - highest combined score from all members from submitted sightings.

  • Champion Identifiers Team - highest combined score from all members for correct identifications.

  • Most Valuable Team Ribbon - highest average score per team member from both submitted sightings and correct identifications.

Awards for individuals

  • Champion Spotter - highest overall score for an individual based on sightings submitted.

  • Champion Identifier - highest score from correct IDs provided by an individual (through the in-game QuestaLab or BioExpertise.org, or for own sightings).

  • Best Find -  highest scoring individual sighting.

  • Active Adventurer Prize Draw - randomly drawn from all registered competitors who submit at least 5 sightings within the competition period.

Prizes will be presented to Pest Invaders BioQuest winners at the DAF Hermitage Research Facility Schools Plant Science Competition Awards Day and Ag Science Expo to be held in Warwick, SE Qld on Tuesday 13th August 2019.
